MIRA is the result of 27 years in the classroom and more than two decades supporting the life of a school from its leadership team. It was not born of an external research project — it was born of the need to respond to what was changing before my eyes.

Why MIRA

Being in constant contact with the youngest has an underrated advantage: that of anticipating the society to come. Over two and a half decades I have seen how the factors that hinder learning intensify — not because of a problem with the students, but because of an environment that has changed faster than the pedagogical models schools use to respond to it.

What you build in the classroom matters more than it seems. That certainty, earned at the board and on the leadership team, is what led me to look for answers and, once I found them, to decide to share them.

MIRA is not a theory — it is what has worked in the classroom and what research backs up. Both at once. That is what makes it worthwhile.

Background and career

BA in Economics and Business. Teacher of Mathematics and Economics in secondary and upper secondary at Colegio San Gregorio, La Mennais, in Aguilar de Campoo (Palencia, Spain), where for more than twenty years I have been part of the leadership team as Head of the Department of Educational Administration and Management.

Leadership experience has given me something the classroom alone does not: the overall view of how a school learns to change — or fails to. MIRA is designed from that dual perspective.
